In 1999 a movie called Bicentennial Man directed by Chris Columbus and Lead role played by Robin Williams an Academy Award, Golden Globe and Grammy Award winning American comedian, which is based on the novel written by Issac Asimov with the same name, I guess has inspired our great South Indian director Shankar for his next movie.

Shankar gave us some of the famous thought provoking movies like Indian aka Hindustani, Gentleman, Mudhalvan aka Nayak, Anniyan aka Aparachit, Shivaji(The Boss) to name a few which were a great example of creativity has tied up with another great legendary actor of South Indian film industry Rajinikanth to make the next movie 'Endhiran, the Robot'.
In the original movie made in 1999 follows the 'life' and times of the lead character(Robin Williams), an android who is purchased as a household robot programmed to perform menial tasks. Within a few days the Martin family realizes that they don't have an ordinary android as Andrew begins to experience emotions and creative thought. In a story that spans two centuries, Andrew learns the intricacies of humanity while trying to stop those who created him from destroying him, and at the end the robot with advent of technology starts to transform into a normal human being.
I guess in our Indian version of this movie as being speculated in the industry The film is reportedly set in the future. I feel our lead actor who too will start as a robot in the beginning of the movie as the movie progresses falls in love with the female lead actor being played by Aishwarya Rai. So the robot(Rajini Saru) tries to become a Human Being to get his love and the story must be revolving around how he tries to become a Human Being and IS he successful in getting his LOVE or not?
This is not the first time our South Indian directors have resorted to copying of Hollywood movies. If we can go back 10 years back and recall a movie called Chachi 420 directed by Kamal Hasan was inspired by another great movie of Robin Willimas Mrs.Doubtfire. And its not only South Indian directors who are insipred by the Hollywood. So, let me not be partial by just pointing out only the South Indian directors some good and big hits of Bollywood of recent time like Munnabhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munnabhai both are inspired by Robin William movies PATCH ADAMS and GOOD MORNING VIETNAM.
So i feel our innocent public is ignorant of all the copy paste work.
I feel its wise for us to apprciate the original master pieces than the copy paste work done by our masala directors.
